I am organizing the following ski club hikes this year. For a list of all SCIG hikes see the official SCIG website.
The Pic Chaussy (2351m) is a very popular hike in the canton Vaud with superb views over Les Diablerets and its summits. To avoid the crowds at least partially, we will start the hike in Vers-l’Eglise (1125m), traverse the summit and go down the normal route to Les Mosses (1439m).
difficult: 1200m 900m 13 km 7h DescriptionFor this year’s Jeûne Genevois, we are doing the Italian half of the Tour des Combins (the Swiss half may come next year). The hike is mostly on well marked trails without major technical difficulties. But each day is long (6-8 hours of walking with significant altitude gain) so you have to be in very good physical shape.
difficult: 4300m 4500m 73 km 4 days DescriptionA 4-day trek in the Bernina massif where we will pass “Fuorclas”, climb one or more “Piz” and stay in three different “Chamanna”.
difficult: 2400m 3200m 62 km 4 days DescriptionA challenging hike to the top of one of the two iconic twin peaks seen from afar with spectacular views over lake Geneva, the Dent due Midi and the Mont Blanc massif.
difficult: 1200m 1200m 15 km 7h DescriptionA (long) walk in the Jura from La Cure across Mont Sâla (1511m) and ending in Saint-Cergue. There are no difficulties on this hike but you need to be able to walk 20 kilometers (~7 hours including breaks). On a clear day, the hike offers outstanding views across the entire alpine range.
medium: 600m 700m 21 km 7h DescriptionA challenging hike to the highest and very prominent peak in the Aravis massif, the Pointe Percée (2750m). We will attempt the traverse by ascending via the Cheminées de Sallanches and use the normal route for the descent. The hike offers outstanding views over the Mont Blanc range.
very difficult (T5): 1200m 1200m 11 km 8h DescriptionA 4-day trek from Täsch to Zermatt across alpine passes, glaciers and waking up on Swiss National Day in the world famous Monte Rosa hut.
difficult (T4): 3600m 3400m 48 km 4 days DescriptionA hike in the Passy National Reserve to Lac de Pormenaz and Pointe Noire (2,323 m) with the impressive Aravis range and the Fiz massif as our backdrop. Ladders and some cables plus the possibility to go for a swim add some extra excitement to this hike.
difficult (T3): 1100m 1100m 18 km 8h DescriptionA traverse of two iconic mountains in the Swiss Prealps overlooking the region of Gruyères. With good visibility we will see a panorama of the entire Alpine range and of course Lake Geneva. The trail has some exposed sections and requires a sure foot.
difficult (T3): 1100m 1100m 14 km 6h Description
